The Captains Club is a business club of the ss Rotterdam and consists of around 70 involved entrepreneurs (from Rotterdam). With the membership of the Captains Club they show their appreciation and love for the former flagship, ss Rotterdam.
The ss Rotterdam works with over 250 volunteers. In 2009 the foundation ‘Cultureel Erfgoed’ was created to give the many different people, who care a lot about the ship, a place where they can contribute to the success of the ship.
Friends of 'Stoomschip Rotterdam'
The Friends of ‘Stoomschip Rotterdam’ is an active foundation which is committed to the conservation of the steamship as a heritage and has existed since 2001.
'Vereniging De Lijn'
“Vereniging De Lijn” is an association that was founded in 1988 and consists of (former) employees and interested parties of the Holland-Amerika Line.
The ss Rotterdam offers, in association with Albeda College and ROC Zadkine, a complete education to become a chef or host(ess). In classrooms with special equipment onboard the ship, students learn at their own pace practical and theoretical lessons.
The ss Rotterdam has a durable policy focused on the careful interaction with mankind, the enviroment and the planet. In the catering and recreation industry it is possible to obtain a Green Key certification. The ss Rotterdam has been awarded the Golden Green Key certification since 2016.
The ss Rotterdam has a long and rich history. “La Grande Dame” was constructed in Rotterdam, left Rotterdam and is now completely back in Rotterdam.
