Smoking Room

The former smoking area of the ss Rotterdam offers breathtaking views over the port and skyline of Rotterdam. In order to enjoy the view optimally, sofas have been placed in front of the windows. These are of a special design; the back rests can be turned around so that guests can enjoy the view to the outside or enjoy the view of the room. The ceiling with its dark and light sections, reminiscent of a Japanese room divider, is to be admired. This gives the Smoking Room its dynamic character. A curved screen of teak wood, designed by Everdine Schuurman-Henny, is decorated with a cultural relief depicting smoking figures from different continents.

The authentic, informal lounge set-up makes this space excellently suitable for various kind of events, often in combination with the neighboring Grand Ballroom. The current room set-up cannot be changed. In the Smoking Room there are several possibilities for the technique. Through our AV partner you can request a quote based on your wishes. Optionally, a mobile sound system can be connected to the sound system to effectuate an even more professional amplification.
